US 48 starts from the Morseville/New Jersey Border Line crossing into Martin Island. This is were MV-55 also begins. After around 3 miles on the Martin Island, US 48 and MV 55 cross the Seaboard Strait onto Mainland Morseville which reaches Huntington. SR 55 separates from US 48.
